517,448. Pianofortes. BROOKS, Ltd., H., and HEALEY, A. E. July 28, 1938, No. 22491. [Class 88 (ii)] To save vertical space in a small pianoforte while retaining standard action and keys of normal length, the outer parts 4 only of the keys are at normal level, and inner stepped-down parts 3 extending beneath the levers 2 of the action are seated upon the balance pin rail. Adjustable projections 9 on the parts 3 have a rolling action upon the levers 2, the pivot of each lever 2, the contacting end of the projection 9 and the fulcrum of the key normally being substantially in alignment.
