Abstract

448,981. Padlocks. JONES & SONS (WILLENHALL), Ltd., E., and JONES, J. E., 36, Doctor's Piece, Willenhall, Staffordshire. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30144. [Class 44] The curved bolt 6 of a circular padlock is pivoted at 7 and has a gap 8 which is entered by the key for direct operation of the bolt. A single tumbler 12 is pivoted at 3 and has a lateral projection 11 which engages with one or other of the recesses 9, 10 in the tail of the bolt. The forward end of the L-shaped tumbler is pressed downwards by a spring 13. The tail of the bolt and the tumbler are separated by a central ward plate 14. The casing is made in halves held together by rivets, and is formed with pips 1<c> to locate the ward plate and a bearing boss 1a to receive the pivot pin 7 which is formed integral with the bolt.
