[Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] An indicating mechanism readable by day or night, for weighing-apparatus, especially counting scales, comprises a chart 24 of translucent material. for example frosted glass, a weightresponsive pointer 18 behind the chart 24 and having a portion extending beyond it, a second chart 20 behind the pointer and adapted to cooperate with the extended portion of the pointer and thereby give indications for observation in day time, and illuminating means 22 adapted fo cast a shadow of the pointer on the chart 24 whereby, with the aid of the illuminating means observation may be made. in night time of the indications given by. the pointer in co-operation with the translucent chart 24. When applied to over-and-under weight indicating mechanism for counting scales, the two charts bear + and - markings as shown and an equilibrium mark 19. A lens 23 facilitates reading of the charts.
