514,907. Conditioning air in ventilation. POWELL, R: H. May 18, 1938, No. 14845. [Class 137] In apparatus for conditioning the air in rooms, air from a chamber d is heated by passage over a heater c and passes due to convection, up a duct b in contact with a panel a from which heat. is radiated into the enclosure, the hot air being led through a return duct f into a mixing chamber g from which the air is discharged through an outlet grille k. A fan e, filter u. and humidifier v may be provided. The amount of fresh air from inlet m and recirculated air from inlet n is controlled by a pivoted flap p, and a similar flap r controls the amounts of hot air passing by inlet t and cool air from inlet s into the mixing chamber g. If hot air is not required the heater c is put out of action. In a portable form the apparatus is only provided with an inlet for recirculated air. One source of heat and fan may be used to serve a number of units, each of which may have its air filter and humidifier.
