[Class 6 (ii)] In a lawn-mower having a roller k driving the cutting cylinder h by a chain g operated through a free wheel mechanism e, f on the roller shaft d, the free wheel mechanism is secured on the shaft outside the end of the roller and comprises a freely mounted sprocket wheel a on which pawls e are pivotally secured so that these pawls co-act with a ratchet wheel f rigidly fixed to the roller shaft. The ratchet mechanism may be covered by a guard and, situated outside or inside the mower's side plates.
