184,073. Ransomes, Sims, & Jefferies, Ltd., and Garnham, W. F. Aug. 25, 1921. Clutches, ratchet. - A lawn-mower or grass-cutter, of the type in which a rotary cutter L is driven through gearing from a pinion G which is provided internally with teeth F engaged by pawls on a member D driven by the ground wheels of the mower, has the member D slidably secured upon an octagonal part C of the hub of the ground wheel and adapted to be moved laterally on this part to move the pawls from the teeth F and so to free the cutter from the drive. The member D is normally held up against a shoulder C<1> by a spring M but may be given its lateral motion by a fork N pivoted at O, and operated by a rod R moving over a cam surface S.
