Abstract

244,698. Martin, P. Dec. 20, 1924, [Convention date]. Addition to 237,561, [Class 6 (ii), Gardening &c. appliances]. Clutches, ratchet. - The lawn mower described in the parent Specification is provided with clutches which drive the cutter differentially and with means for putting the clutches out of operation. In a hub A on each wheel A<1> is a circular groove having inclines at the bottom with which are adapted to engage dogs on a sleeve B sliding on feathers on the axle B<1>. The sleeve B is constantly pressed inwards by a spring c, but may be drawn outwards by rotating a lever E which engages inclines b on a casing D, and is secured on the sleeve B by a bolt F and spring G.
