Abstract

513,268. Loud speakers &c. LEACH, F. E., and BICKET. H. March 11, 1938, Nos. 7628 and 30241. [Class 40 (iv)] The moving coil a of a loudspeaker, pick-up &c. is secured co-axially to a vibrating shell b, Fig. 1, or cup p, Fig. 3, the closed end or apex of which is connected rigidly to the diaphragm. D by a rod d in line with the axis of the coil. The rod d may pass freely through the inner pole-piece e and be supported at each end by flexible spiders f, l. The rod d may be secured by a chuck d<SP>2</SP> to a rib D<SP>1</SP> on the diaphragm, and several coil units may be connected to separate areas, of different natural frequency, of a large diaphragm. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 24278/10, 256,443, 312,950, [all in Class 40 (iv)] 378,601, and 437,605 and U.S.A. Specifications 1,855,168, 1,878,232 and 1,889,748.
