Abstract

512,041. Boots and shoes. CIRIN, J. Feb. 28, 1938, No. 6326. [Class 17 (ii)] A series of fastening members extend continuously around the periphery of an outer sole with which may be engaged fastening members fixed to an upper in one or more portions, so that any one of a number of uppers of different design, colour &c. may be attached to the same sole. A wire may be bent into a series of loops 1 and the ends may be connected together to form a sole-shaped member which is secured by sewing, adhesive, &c. between inner and outer sole members a, b or parts attached thereto. Hookshaped members f, attached to straps g forming the upper portion or portions, may be engaged with the loops 1. The outer sole a has an upward projection e attached to or integral with it to cover and protect the loops 1. The heel may have projections fitting into recesses in the heel and of the sole and be secured by a screw.
