Abstract

511,501. Vehicle lamp mountings. BOSCH GES., R., (formerly BOSCH AKT.-GES., R.). Feb. 18, 1938, No. 5046. Convention date, Feb. 18, 1937. [Class 75 (iii)] In a headlamp mounting in which a ring 3, carrying the lens 5 and reflector 6 as by means of springs 7, is inserted from the front into a seating 2 in the bonnet 1 or other part of a vehicle and is adjustable therein, two or more lug-like holders 16, 17, connected to the seating 2 and the ring 3 respectively, are formed at their free ends with similar spherical seatings secured together by bolts 18 and nuts 19, slots 20 being provided in the lugs 16 to permit adjustment. As shown, two lugs 17 are welded on a tubular extension 4 of the ring 3 mounted with clearance in the seating 2, a packing ring 15 being provided, and two co-operating lugs 16 are formed integrally with the seating 2. The ring and seating may be circular or oval. In a modification in which three pairs of lugs 16, 17 are provided, the ring is formed with a spherical surface for engaging a spherical seating on the vehicle, and the free ends of the lugs 17 are substantially flat. In each case a cover is pivoted to the body to give access to the incandescent lamp without removing the cover ring.
