Abstract

511,302. Maps. McQUADE, P. March 24, 1938, [Class 146 (iii)] A map holder comprises a casing formed of two parts detachably secured together, rollers d on which a strip map is wound for movement past a transparent window in the front of the casing, which also has a lateral aperture for displaying the section number of the map exhibited, a pocket in the back of the casing for receiving a key map, a compass mounted on one side of the casing between the roller knobs n, and means inside the casing for illuminating the strip map, the key map through a rear aperture w, and the compass. The illuminating means consists of lamps g, battery u, and switch t, a white opaque celluloid cover being secured between the lamps and strip map to suffuse the light and act as a support for the map. A scale is secured on the cover below the front window.
