Abstract
304,817. Waller, P. H. Oct. 26, 1927. Signs. - A sectionally illuminated d compartmented display appliance for indicating on a map, chart, &c., a route, or specific points, &c. and comprising a celliilar structure forming compartments for tho lamps is faced with a map-bearing facia constructed of a backing sheet bearing a map having the same coefficient of expansion as the backing and perforated for the illumination of a second map secured to the first one and registering with it. The facia is formed of a backing sheet 1, Fig. 6, having a similar co-efficient of expansion to the first map 2 which is adhesively mounted thereon. The compound sheet is perforated with shaped apertures 3, the shape indicating any desired information. A second map 4 is then similarly secured to and in registration with the first map. The cellular structure 7, Fig. 7, is japanned and its front surface smoothed and is then secured to the rear surface of the facia, so forming compartments for the lamps 9. Fig. 8, which are frontwardly light-tight. The desired information is exhibited by illuminating the required compartments. Specification 241,600, [Class 146 (ii). Stationery &c.], is referred to.
