510,606. End closures for cartons. LUCAS, Ltd., J., PHILLIPS, J. W., and RHODES, S. C. Feb. 3, 1938, No. 3364. [Class 18] One or each end of a carton a, Fig. 1, is provided with four flaps b, c, d, the flap d being formed, at or near its connection with side of the carton, with a long slot e and a short transverse slot f extending from one end of the long slot, and the large flap c having a tongue g, slotted at h, wich can be interlocked with the flap d by hooking one end through the slot e and bending the other end along the line i so that it can pass through the slot f. The deflected end of the tongue partly straightens out and prevents withdrawal of the tongue from the slots. The flap b immediately under the slot f is cut away at j, Fig. 3, to permit insertion of the bent.end of the tongue.
