Abstract
510,560. Safety razors. SAVARY, J. B. R. March 5, 1938, No. 6978. [Class 30] Safety razor guards are independently adjusted to vary the depth of cut or the angle of the cutting edge either by separate mechanical means for each guard or by resiliently mounting the guards. Each guard 8, Fig. 1, is internally threaded for a screwed rod 53 with eccentric journals 54, the guards having tail members 56 with studs 57 engaging grooves 58 in the end supports 55, the rods 53 being rotated by a screwdriver. The rods 53 may be smooth and rotated by graduated knobs. In a: modification, Fig. 4, each guard 8 is mounted on plain rods with eccentric journals and has an arm 56 with a locking screw 80 engaging a slot in the support 55. The resilient mounting consists of a spring 91, Fig. 10, surrounding each pivot 90 and engaging the guard 8 and side support 55, or a single spring may extend along the support and connect the two guards together. The springs may be replaced by rubber bearings.
