540,899. Mincing-machines. LIECHTI, A. May 3, 1940, No. 7999. Convention date, April 1. [Class 28 (ii)] In mincing-machines wherein the blades are detachably mounted on a cutter head 6 having a plurality of arms 7, a T-shaped knife blade 12 having a single cutting edge is secured against movement and in position in each arm of the head solely or mainly by clamping action in a straight transverse slot extending from face to face of the arm. The T- shaped blade when unmounted may, as shown in Fig. 4, be slightly arched in the direction of its two lugs. The blade 12 is filled with its narrow portion 9<SP>1</SP> in the transverse slot, and the wide part, formed with the cutting edge, bears against the face of the head. The slot may be inclined to the plane of rotation of the head; or, as shown in Fig. 5, the slot may be at right-angles to the plane of rotation and the blade additionally secured by a screw 13, the wide portion of the blade forming an obtuse angle with the narrow portion filled in the head.
