Abstract

510,556. Packeting-machines. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Feb. 24, 1938, No. 5827. [Class 94 (i)] In apparatus for filling envelopes with measured charges of powdered or granular substances, such as is described in Specification 483,162, [Group XVIII], means are provided for feeding the filled envelope to a delivery belt. The envelopes E are removed from the level of the filling station by grippers 2, 3 which embrace the bottom of the bag and are mounted on a bar 4 having a vertical extension 8 sliding in a guide 13. The jaws descend, and are opened by the actions of a pivoted cam-bar 11, which is moved by a link 15 to press on a' crank 9 on the jaw 2 and to open it against the action of a spring 56. The envelope is now level with the delivery belt 1 and is forced to the middle thereof by a horizontally reciprocable plate 34.
