[Class 122 (iii)] A gasket comprises a resilient metal sheet 1 formed with pyramidal or other projections and recesses, and coated, first with threads or cuttings 2, and then with fine-grained material 3. The threads 2 may be of metal, e.g. aluminium, or may be non-metallic, e.g. asbestos or slag or glass wool, which may be sprayed on by compressed air. The layer 3 may be of the same material as the layer 2, but is fine grained. The layers may be secured by means of an adhesive, e.g. synthetic resin, and are rolled.
