Abstract
508,920. Regulating fluid-flow. OTTO, C., and OTTO & CO. GES., DR. C. Sept. 8, 1938, No. 26240. Convention date, Sept. 20, 1937. [Class 135] A gas-regulating nozzle 26 for underfired coke ovens, disposed within the transverse pipe 16 connecting the distributing and vertical pipes, and removable through an aperture in the cross-piece 23 by detaching the cap 28, is held in place by its retaining ring 27 screwed into the cross-piece, so that it does not obstruct the vertical pipe. Variation in the amount of gas required for different flues is provided by fitting nozzles of varying bore and, for fine adjustment, by inserting wires 30, of varying thickness, held in position by grooves 31 and caps 28. Specification 468,983 is referred to.
