489,063. Regulating fluid flow. WOODALL-DUCKHAM (1920), Ltd., JACKSON, G. J., KRALL, R. F., and SMITH, E. W. June 11, 1937, No. 16210. Addition to 468,983. [Class 135] The interchangeable nozzle plug 5 for con. trolling the supply of fuel gas to underjetfed coke-ovens which is described in the parent Specification is modified by the provision of a tapered needle member 7 which is carried by the nozzle either directly or in a removable bush 8 as shown and is adjustable in relation to the calibrated orifice in the nozzle element 5. The needle member 7 is screwed into the bush 8 which in turn is screwed into a mounting 5a forming one end of the nozzle plug. The retaining plunger 11 for the spring washer 12 is recessed to receive the needle member, which is locked in adjusted position by a nut 9. The nozzle plug may carry a projecting key engaging a slot in the cruciform connection 3 to prevent rotation, but the plunger 13 projecting between the distance pieces 6 may be employed as described in the parent Specification.
