Abstract

508,294. Drilling - jigs. HERBERT, Ltd., A., LLOYD, A. H., and FARREN, A. E. Jan. 27, 1939, No. 2804. [Class 83 (iii)] In a drilling-jig having removable guide bushes, the entering end of the bush, of the co-operating hole in the jig, or of a liner in the jig is bevelled and provided with an annular recess near the end to facilitate entry of the bush in'the jig. The bush 14, Fig. 2, which enters a liner 13 driven into the jig 11 is provided at the entering end with a bevel 21 and an annular recess 23 whereof the side remote from the end is inclined. The bush is secured in the jig by a flange 16 having a slot 17 therein for passing the head 18 of a screw attached to the jig and shoulders 19 for engaging under the head of the screw on rotation of the bush. Alternatively, the liner 13, Fig. 5, or the bore of the jig itself may be provided'with a bevel 25 at the entering end and an annular recess 26 whose surface 27 remote from the end is inclined, the bush 14 in this case being cylindrical throughout.
