Abstract
507,603. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., MEERS, R. A., and ROSS, C. P. Dec. 17,1937, No. 35041. [Class 40 (v)] A push - pull amplifier is provided with a two-part secondary winding with the parts of the winding included in the cathode circuits to give negative feedback, an additional secondary winding may be provided for the outgoing circuit. The invention is applicable to broadcast repeating amplifiers comprising a main amplifier, as shown in the Figure, having an input attenuator and a two-stage amplifier feeding a push-pull pair feeding a load resistance R14 of 10,000 ohms. for feeding a number of auxiliary amplifiers. The auxiliary amplifiers are similar to the push-pull output stage, except that two secondary windings are provided and the feedback is arranged to reduce the output impedance to 30-40 ohms. Devices PV1-PV4 are provided for checking anode current comprising a resistance shunting a V-link socket arrangement. Filament jacks JI, J2 and alarm lamps L1, L2 may be provided and similar valves may be used throughout the repeater.
