Abstract
507,451. Motor driving arrangements. FORKARDT, R. July 26, 1938, No. 22245. Convention date, July 26, 1937. [Class 35] In a motor-gear unit, a threaded member is movable axially by a nut coaxial with the motor and driven thereby through wheel gearing and a clutch urged to its engaging position by a readily accessible adjustable spring. In the form shown, the gear wheel 9 driven from the motor pinion 6 through gears 7, 8, has projections 9a, Fig. 2, urged by a spring 15 into recesses in the end face of the nut 11 which moves the threaded rod 12 axially. The rod 3, which is connected to a press or other device, is guided by slots in the end cover 3 and its inward movement is limited by nuts 13. At the end of the stroke the nut 11 is brought to rest and the projections 9a slide out of the recesses in the nut, overcoming the spring 15 and the gear 9 turns idly until the motor is switched off. The spring pressure is transmitted to the gear 9 by the rod 17 and the spring is adjusted by the member 16.
