Abstract
506,229. Alloys. BRITISH OXYGEN CO., Ltd., and PERCIVAL, L. C. June 22, 1938, No. 18523. [Class 82 (i)] A welding-rod for the production of joints highly resistant to creep and to scaling at elevated temperatures comprises a non-austenitic steel having no intentionally-added chromium and composed of iron with the usual amounts of carbon, silicon, and manganese together with 0À25-1À5 per cent of molybdenum. In addition, there may be present up to 1 per cent in all of one or more of the elements copper, nickel, and vanadium, the preferred upper limit for each being 0À2 per cent. In an example, a rod may be composed of iron with 0À08-0À15 per cent of carbon, 0À4-0À5 per cent of silicon, 0À7-1À5 per cent of manganese, and 0À5-0À7 per cent of molybdenum. Specification 352,714 is referred to.
