Abstract

[Class 44] [Also in Group XXII] A clamping device for detachably securing together parts such as the overarms 6, 7 associated with the movable spindle -carriers of a milling machine comprises a key 22 adapted to be inserted between the head 13a of a set screw 13 adjustably secured to a member 12 movable in the one part 6, and shoulders 24, 25, forming part of a T-slot 23 in the other part 7. The member 12 is moved to the right, Fig. 2, to release the key or to the left for clamping by means of an eccentric 18 on a spindle 16 operated by a handle 21. The key is forked to pass over the shank of the screw 13. The device, is effective even when the overarms are at different levels as indicated in Fig. 2.
