247,958. Maschinen-& Werkzeugfabrik Akt.-Ges. Turbenthal. Feb. 19, 1925, [Convention date]. Tools; tool-holders.-A tool-holder for use in turning or planing metals, wood, &c. comprises a pair of clamps 1, 2, Fig. 2, provided with longitudinal grooves 7 for accomodating a cutter 10. The clamps may be aligned by a tongue 3 which is secured in one of the clamps and which engages in a longitudinal slot in the other clamp in such manner that relative longitudinal adjustment of the clamps is possible. The clamps may be recessed at 13 to grip a round rod or tool-shank, in which case the tongue 3 may be omitted. The tools may be double-ended and may be tapered at the clamping portion. Various modifications of the clamping-section are shown. The tools may be provided with four cutting-edges 23, Fig. 14. The holder may be provided with grooves on opposite faces so as to hold two tools simultaneously. The grooves may be disposed so that the tool can be secured in the holder at the required angle.
