Abstract

174,575. GÚrard, E. Jan. 22, 1921, [Convention date]. Tools; tool holders.-The cutter 3, Fig. 4 of a lathe or other tool-holder is adjusted for height by a screw 4, and tightened against a strap 5 by means of a wedge 9 and a screw 10. In a modification, Fig. 1, the strap is not secured to the tool-holder, but tightens the cutter against the end thereof by the reaction of a screw 8 which passes through a block 6 uniting the free ends of the strap, and abuts against the rear end of the tool-holder. The strap joints may be welded riveted &c. Cutters of any section may be used, the strap and tool-holder or wedge being formed to suit. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes a special cutter with four cutting edges. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
