Abstract

150,873. Marr, H. July 15, 1919. Tool-holders; boring and cutter bars.-In a boring-bar, tool-box, or the like, the bottoms of the slots for receiving the cutters are inclined downwardly and outwardly from the centre and the cutters are held therein by wedges. The body b, Fig. 1, has four slots and is provided with a head d at their intersection to form a bearing-surface for the screws which cause the wedges h, h<1> to grip the cutters. In a modification with two cutters only, the head d is dispensed with and the inner ends of the opposed screws abut. In a further modification, the cutters abut on packing n which gives the adjustment and are held by wedge devices k, Fig. 3.
