Abstract
20,213. Taylor, C., and Taylor, G. B. Sept. 12. Turning.-For cutting-off in a lathe, a pair of cutting-tools is used, the cutting-edge of which is considerably less in width than the parting groove, so that each tool cuts a different side of the groove. The tools e<2>, d<2> are inclined so as to obviate the necessity for backing-off, and are preferably mounted in a rotary head e, devices q being provided for breaking-up and guiding the cuttings.
