Abstract
505,837. Cores for moulding concrete &c. MATHEWS, C. B., and AMBROSE, J. G. Oct. 15. 1937. Nos. 28056/37 and 4275/38. [Class 87 (ii)] To prevent concrete moving into the troughs between tubes forming inflatable cores for the production of flat faced openings in moulded concrete as described in Specification 458,625 the troughs are provided with bridge - like members such as boards or air-supported fabrics or material. In the form shown in the Figures the inflatable member formed by a tube folded back on itself to provide three runs 2, 3, 4, is provided with a cover c stitched together at the parts c<1>, c<2>; a covering d is then placed over the three runs. To enable the troughs between the runs to be bridged a rubber cover f is then fitted over the covering d and a final loose covering p of flexible material is placed over all. The tubes 2, 3, 4 are inflated through a pipe h<1> and the rubber cover f through a pipe h<2> fitted with a valve: In a modification the bridge pieces are formed by ply-board wrapped longitudinally and transversely in woven material and, after the boards have been placed in position relatively to the inflatable tubes, provided with a covering of flexible material over all.
