Abstract
609,209. Inflatable moulding cores. SEMERARO, A. Nov. 22, 1944, No. 23248. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1943. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 23, 1945.] [Class 87 (ii)] An inflatable core for moulding perforations in concrete, mortar, pottery, &c. comprises two layers 19, 20, of rubber and an intermediate layer 18 of canvas or cotton cloth, the layers being vulcanized together in such a position as to form a composite tube having a re-entrant fold 21. When the core is inflated the fold is blown out so that the core becomes circular in crosssection. The intermediate layer of canvas &c. limits the diameter of the inflated core. The outer layer 20 of rubber contracts to deflate the core when pressure is released from the latter. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also (a) a core comprising an outer tube 11, Fig. 1, (Cancelled) of rubber, a loose intermediate crumpled tube 12 of canvas or other fabric, strong paper, malleable leather, flexible metal, metal fabric or plastic material, and an inner tube 13 of rubber, and (b) a core comprising an outer tube 15, Fig. 4, (Cancelled), and an innercrumpled tube 16 of canvas, strong paper, &c. (as for 12). This subject-matter is not contained in the Specification as accepted.
