Abstract
611,028. Inflatable moulding cores. SEMERARO, A. Nov. 22, 1944, No. 23249. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1944. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 23, 1945.] [Class 87 (ii)] A core consists of an innermost inflatable rubber tube 13, an outermost rubber tube 11 and one or more intermediate tubes 12 made of canvas or other fibrous fabric, strong paper, malleable leather or similar material. The tubes are joined together only at their ends, to form fluidtight closures, one of the closures having a valve 14 that communicates with the chamber formed by the tube 13. The tube 13 has a diameter smaller than, equal to, or greater than the normal internal diameter of the tube 11. The tube 12 has a diameter equal to or greater than the normal internal diameter of the tube 11. When the tube 13 is inflated by pressure fluid passing through valve 14, tube 12 limits its expansion and the consequent expansion of tube 11. When the pressure fluid is. released from tube 13, tube 11 contracts and deflates the core, thus returning it to its normal condition.
