Abstract

912,105. Making hoses. DANSK GALOCHE- & GUMMIFABRIK A.S. April 6, 1961 [April 8, 19601, No. 12384/61. Class 99(2). In a method of manufacturing a vulcanised rubber hose the reinforcement, e.g. embedded textile fabric, wire or cords 6, and the rubber layers 5, 8 are wound continuously about a bendable mandrel 4 of reinforced vulcanised rubber having hooks or other connecting means at either end for detachable connection to adjacent mandrels, the hose being subsequently prior to or after being cut into sections corresponding to the mandrel lengths, vulcanised, and, after being cooled pulled off the mandrel which is released from the other mandrels and used again. As shown, the hose is passed through a vulcanising chamber 11 having sluice chambers 9, 10 and 12, 13 and then to a water-cooling Vat 14, the hose being cut at the narrowed sections 16 formed adjacent the mandrel connections.
