505,499. Trousers. OVIATT, J. Nov. 10, 1937, No. 30910. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1936. [Class 141] Trousers having a waist portion extending above the waistline, and darts extending from the upper edge of the trousers to points in the neighbourhood of the hip line, are characterized in that the widest portions of the darts are substantially at the waistline but below the upper edge so that the trousers are constricted below the upper edge but above the wearer's hip line. The trousers shown are provided in the rear of the waist portion with two pairs of darts 19 of lenticular form the widest portions of the darts being disposed at the waistline, and the trousers are further provided with a two-part belt 22, 23, the parts 22, 23, being secured at their rear ends 27 to the rearmost darts 19, at the widest portions thereof, and extending forwardly over the wearer's hips the free ends of the belt parts being adjustably secured together by a buckle 26 which is disposed preferably to one side of the trousers.
