Abstract
505,225. Endless-belt conveyers. COUCH, F. J. Nov. 25, 1937, No. 32575. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Groups VIII and XVI] A feeding device for ironing- machines of the type wherein rollers coact with concave beds comprises groups of endless conveyer bands 16 arranged in feeding " lanes " in such way that the bands 16a immediately adjacent to the centre line of each lane are preferably substantially parallel to the centre line, the next bands 16b diverge slightly therefrom, the next bands 16e, 16d diverge progressively farther, whilst the remaining bands 16e are parallel to the bands 16d. The conveyers are of truncated V- section and are supported by rollers 20, 22 which are adjustable towards and away from each other by manually operated toggle links 30, one of the rollers being positively driven. The framework 15 carrying the conveyers is adjustably bolted to the main machine frame 11 and may be supported at different heights by shoulders 18a, 18b resting on brackets on the main frame. Stripping fingers 64 are resiliently supported between the conveyer bands. The goods to be ironed pass between the conveyers 16 and other conveyer bands 34 carried by another adjustably mounted frame. Plates 54, 55, 56 lightly press the upper conveyers into contact with the lower set and are mounted so as to have a limited vertical movement and substantially no horizontal movement.
