Abstract
503,427. Casting concrete walls in situ. McMAHON, C. J. Oct. 12, 1937, No. 27734. [Class 20 (ii)] Extension mould plates for use in casting chimney breasts, together with moulds such as of the kind described in Specification 445,407, are formed with pivoted latches and interfitting projections and recesses on their ends, and may be assembled in line or at right-angles to each other. The metal shutters a have flanged edges and are supported on bearers v secured to the previously cast course, and are spaced apart at their lower portions by bolts and at their upper portions by straps r pivoted at one side to the shutters. The ends of the shutters are provided with interengaging projections and recesses d, e, respectively, and are locked together by latches n pivoted to the ends of one set of shutters and adapted to engage projections on the ends of adjacent shutters. When used at angles to form chimney breasts, the latches are notched and interengage at right-angles, stops z<1> being provided to limit their downward movements. Cores w are used to form the chimney apertures in the cast wall.
