Abstract

503,125. Cathode-ray tubes. PYE, Ltd., and LIEBMANN, G. Aug. 25, 1937, No. 28005/38. Divided out of 503,074. [Class 39 (i)] The cathode contains a heater and has a flat surface 32 coated with emissive material and coplanar with the flat end surface of a surrounding, apertured support member 33 joined to the cathode by means, such as strips 35 of poor heat conductivity, adjacent the surface 32. The member 33 may be the cathode shield surrounding the cylindrical body of the cathode and closed by a mica disc 37 which has fingers engaging the wall of the tube and to which the ends 38 of the cathode heater are riveted. The cathode and shield are arranged in tubes with electrodes as described in Specifications 603,074 and 503,126. Dimensions of the electrodes are specified. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 476,830.
