502,982. Loose-leaf binders. KEENE, J. A. Oct. 16, 1937, No. 28204. [Class 146 (i)] A loose-leaf binder of the toggle-operated expanding-back type has telescopic posts 13 carried by a base-plate 9 hinged to the back member 3 by a pin 8 common to it and to the adjacent cover 7, recesses 27, 28 being provided in the back-member 2 to receive the free ends of the posts. Each post 13 may consist of a tubular part and a pin slidablymounted therein and spring-pressed outwardly to its extended position. A lifter bar carrying rigid or telescopic posts and perforated to fit over the posts 13 may be employed to facilitate manipulation of the sheets. Studs may be provided on the underside of the lifter-bar to engage recesses 25, 26 in the back member 2.
