Abstract

273,597. Maple, P. Jan. 14, 1927. Bookmarkers.-In loose covers or binders for books, of the kind wherein a base strip secured within the back of the cover is provided at each end with inwardly directed tongues which are slid able to engage within the folds of a book to retain it within the cover, the tongues 9, Fig. 6, may be used as bookmarkers. The tongues are detachable and are provided with offset sleeves 8 which fit over tags 7, Fig. 1, on cranked extensions of the metal base strip 1. The sleeves 8 and tongues 9 are integral members formed from a strip of metal, the end 11 being curled to provide a finger-piece, and the sleeves are preferably provided with peripheral grooves 16 which snap within corresponding grooves in the tags 7 to retain the seleves in position.
