[Class 79 (v) A device for absorbing shocks produced by the steering road wheels on the steering-gear of a motor vehicle comprises a friction disc 8 fixed to the back plate of the brake 6 of the road wheel and engaged between friction plates 9 carried by the steering pivot pin 3. The plates are clamped against the disc by a spring 11 and are held against rotation by a stirrup-shaped holder 10.
