Abstract
211,489. SuÞre, L. Feb. 15, 1923, [Convention date]. Vibration-dampers - In a motor-car or other vehicle, two shock absorbers 8, Fig. 1, secured to the rear axle casing are disposed transversely of the vehicle on opposite sides of its longitudinal axis and are connected to the chassis 1 through resilient rods 3. The rods 3 are connected through ball-and-socket joints 9, 5, 6 to arms 7 formed on discs 11, Fig. 3, adapted to turn about pivots 14 disposed in a cover 17 and on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis x, y of the vehicle. Friction discs 12, 13 separate the disc 11 from plates 16, 19, the discs and plates being pressed together by springs 18. The pressure of the springs is adjusted by a central bolt 22 which secures the cover 17 and plate 16 to a support 24 on the axle casing.
