[Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Groups VI and III] An apparatus for removing odorous gases from ventilating air comprises a cell-carrying plate M mounted aslant across a duct D, and having circular openings y upon which are mounted hollow cylindrical cells C<1>. Each cell comprises permeable inner and outer walls 31, 32 retaining an annular bed of granular adsorbent material of less than one inch in thickness, the height of the cells being such as to afford an adsorbent bed area many times as great as the cross sectional area of the duct.
