Abstract

381,806. Filters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Jan. 26, 1932, No. 2309. Convention date, Jan. 29, 1931. [Class 46.] A filter, intended especially for liquid fuels, has two concentric elements through which the liquid passes successively, the first being a perforated single-walled sheetmetal pot and the second of flannel or other cloth arranged on an open cage support. The filter shown comprises a metal pot 7, with a removable cover 8 and perforations formed by pressing out small pockets, and an inner element consisting of fabric 12 supported on a frame formed by a bottom plate 11, cover-plate 10 and longitudinal rods 9. The fabric is cut as a disc, fixed at its centre to the plate 11 by a screw 13, pleated at the sides and bound with string around the neck of the plate 10. The container 1, its cover 2, and the two filter elements are held together in position by a bolt 3 which screws into a nut fixed in the base of the container and has a screw 4 at its upper end. A spring 14 is interposed between the pot 7 and the bottom of the container. Liquid enters through a pipe 5 and the filtrate is discharged through a pipe 6. Air separating in the filter collects in a chamber 15 in the cover, a screw valve being provided to control its discharge therefrom.
