Abstract
520,633. Filters. MULLER, J. Oct. 25, 1938, No. 30866. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1937. [Class 46] A filter element comprises sheets 17, Fig. 1, of filtering-material held in position between supports 10 of moulded non-metallic material preferably synthetic. As shown in Fig. 2, each of the supports 10 is in the form of a truncated cone having reinforced peripheries 8, 9 with annular grooves 14 and mortised on one side to receive a ring 16 of copper or other resilient material. The supports may have reinforcing ribs 11. The outer peripheries 9 are, slotted to admit liquid from the space around the element so that it may pass upward through the filter cloth above for discharge as filtrate through slots on the lower side of the inner periphery 8 of the superposed support 10. The discs and supports are mounted on a slotted central column 2 between an end plate 1 fixed to the column and a plate 18 held against the bottom of the element by a nut 19 screwing on the column.
