500,939. Vehicle wheels. RUBERY, OWEN, & CO., Ltd., and FREEMAN, P. J. Nov. 27, 1937, No. 29071/38. Divided out of 500,897. [Class 144 (i)] A cover 28 for enclosing the securing- means of a detachable disc wheel is formed with an inturned flange 27 constituting one wall of an annular groove 32 the rest of which is formed by the exposed part of the wheel body. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the latter has an integral rib 40, Fig. 5, showing a modification in which a separate flanged ring 41 is snap-fitted over studs 43 as described in Specification 454,807. An additional groove 31 may be formed in the cover 28 which may be fitted with a detachable centre 29. Further to simulate the structural appearance of a single disc wheel, the bottoms of the grooves, and /or other annular portions of the cover and the exposed part of the wheel body, are similarly painted or otherwise treated.
