Abstract

500,573. Ventilating vehicles. PERCIVAL , S. (Evans Products Co.) Aug. 12, 1937, No. 22201. [Class 137] A ventilating unit, which may be attached to the roof 176 of an existing vehicle 175, comprises a hood member 179 divided by a partition 186 into a chamber 187 to which air is supplied through a forwardly directed inlet 183, and into a chamber 188 from which air is extracted through a slot 184. The air entering chamber 187 passes through an opening 178 controlled by a flap 201 into the interior from which the foul air is drawn through an opening 197 controlled by a flap 202. The openings 178 and 197 are separated by a partition 198. Sieves 193, 194 prevent entry of water, and a deflecting surface 92 catches moisture entering with the air through the opening 183.
