Abstract
500,555. Glazing-bars. HALL, H., BROWN, W., and MELLOWES & CO., Ltd. Aug. 10, 1937, No. 21982. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A glazing - bar is made of hollow form and with symmetrical integral fins 3 by extrusion from non - ferrous metal such as aluminium alloy or bronze. A central web or fin 8 which may have a hollow bead is also formed and the fins 3 are grooved for packing strips 12 and drainage at 6. The strips 12 may be formed of soft non-ferrous metal having bifurcations at each end providing attachment webs 14 and bearing ribs 13 on which the glass rests, or as described in the Provisional Specification, cord packing may be used. Securing clips 15 may be sprung over the bead 9 or continuous capping strips may slide into position along the bead. Additional securing bolts or clamps may be applied to the capping at 16. The glass may also be secured by two continuous or intermittent cleats bolted to the central web of the bar as described in the Provisional Specification. Specification 23084/05, [Class 20], is referred to.
