Abstract

468,045. Rod couplings. LESLIE, R. C. Dec. 19, 1935, No. 15275/36. Divided out of 448,641. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Groups X and XIV] Rods for use in furniture frame construction as described in Specification 448,641 are provided at each end with a disc 4, the disc at one end having a projecting screw 6, and the disc at the other end, a counterpart screwed aperture, in order that the rods may be joined end to end. The ends are also cased with metal casings 2 which are flanged over the edges of the discs to retain them in position and these casings may be formed with counterpart interfitting ends and with transverse apertures 8 to allow the rods to be joined together cross-wise. Rods may also be joined together at angles by metal sleeves 11.
