Abstract

1,218,258. Beams &c. DE WENDEL & CIE S.A. 22 April, 1968 [16 June, 1967], No. 18876/ 68. Heading E1K. A structural member such as a beam comprises a web 9 located by and welded along its edge to the inturned converging extremities 3, 4 of an elongate member B folded to define parallel faces 8, 2 forming tubular flanges. A similar member A may be welded to the opposite edge of the web 9. The web 9 may be formed with longitudinally spaced V-formations 12, 13, whilst the edges of the web remain flat for engagemnet between the extremities 3, 4 of the members A or B. The flanges A, B bear on the ends of the V- formations through their faces 1, 2.
