Abstract

500,366. Gaseous catalytic reactions; hydrocarbons ; aldehydes ; ketones. JOHNSON, G. W. (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges.) Aug. 10, 1937, No. 22010. Drawings to Specification. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group III] Gaseous catalytic reactions are effected by moving the catalyst through the reaction zone and raising the temperature in the direction of movement so that the rate of reaction does not decrease to a substantial extent. The process is suitable for the dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons, the reduction of oxides of carbon, the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons, the hydration of acetylene, &c.
