Abstract
500,291. Multiply dryer - felts. HINDLE, T., and LORD, S. Aug. 5, 1937, No. 21581. [Class 142 (iv)] A multi-ply paper-makers dryer-felt has warp threads 1a &c. of twisted multi strand cotton yams, and three or more layers of weft, namely under layers of cotton weft 3b, 6b, &c. and 4b, 5b, &c. and also a layer of floating woollen wefts 1b, 2b, 7b, 8b, 11b, 12b forming a working face and bound in by passing under the warp threads 1a, 3a, &c. The woollen' floats are À2" to À5" long and may be arranged in six end satin weave order. The weft floats in the under layer may be À125" long. There may be less weft threads per inch in the under layers so as to make the felt body porous. The method of finishing the felt-is referred to. The warp is heavily tensioned.
